Terms, plainly

Last updated: August 13, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Expert Craft Inc., which operates the Ellarum service. Using Ellarum means you agree to them. The iOS app itself is licensed to you under Apple's standard licence agreement.

The short version

Who we are

Ellarum is a service operated by Expert Craft Inc. Throughout these terms, "we" and "us" mean Expert Craft Inc.

Reach us at support@ellarum.com — that address is read by a person, and it is the right place for anything about your account, someone's behaviour, or these terms.

You must be 18

Ellarum is for adults. You may not use it if you are under 18. Asks travel to people you haven't met, introductions are meant to end in real arrangements — borrowing a ladder, hiring someone, meeting up — and that is not a service for children. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it.

What you write stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you write — your asks, your profiles, your messages. We do not claim any of it.

To make the service work at all, you give us a narrow permission, and only this one: when you write an ask, you allow us to store it, carry it to the people you chose, and show it to anyone one of them passes it on to — for as long as that ask is live. That permission ends when the ask is resolved, withdrawn, or expires. For messages it is narrower still: we store and relay them so they reach the person you're talking to.

It covers nothing else. We do not publish your content, license it to anyone, sell it, use it to train models, or use it in marketing. Nothing you write is posted, public, or browsable by other users.

What we can and cannot see is set out in the Privacy Policy.

What isn't allowed

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Ellarum. Do not use it to:

How we enforce it

Introductions are between people

Ellarum carries an ask and makes an introduction when both sides agree. That is all it does. We do not check anyone's identity, qualifications, licences, insurance, or history, and a name behind an ask is one person's willingness to vouch — not a guarantee about anyone.

What happens after an introduction is between the two of you. Use ordinary judgment before you meet someone, hand over something valuable, hire someone, or pay for work. Anything you agree with another person is your agreement, not ours.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Me → Delete account); what that removes is described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

The service itself

Ellarum is provided as it is. We don't promise it will always be available, that an ask will find anyone, or that it will be free of faults. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything arising out of what another person does — before, during, or after an introduction.

Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law where you live, if that law says they can't be limited.

Changes

If these terms change materially, we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Expert Craft Inc. agree that the state and federal courts located in San Mateo County, California have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them, and each of us consents to their jurisdiction. This doesn't take away any right you have to bring a claim where you live, if the law where you live says it can't be taken away.
